Granola
Meeting notes that write themselves, with no bot in the call.
By Granola · since 2023 · granola.ai
B+ · out of 10
Granola listens to your machine instead of joining the call as a guest, so nobody sees a robot in the participant list. You type whatever scraps you want during the meeting, and afterwards it merges them with the transcript into notes shaped by a template you chose. A chat sits on top of everything you have ever recorded, which is where the app stops being a transcriber and starts being a memory.

What it does well
- No meeting bot, so the call looks normal to everyone else
- Your half-typed scraps survive into the final notes
- Chat spans every meeting you have recorded, not just this one
- The free plan records without limits and does not ask for a card
Where it falls short
- Notes older than 30 days lock until you pay
- It is a meeting tool, so there is no real filing system for anything else
- No end-to-end encryption for conversations you may not want stored
- Nothing to edit or write outside of a meeting context
Our take
The best AI meeting notepad on the market, as long as you understand it is a meeting notepad and not a note app.
Best for: People whose week is calls, and whose notes are all about them.
