Tell us what we got wrong
NoteTakingApps is written by one person, so a message reaches the person who can fix the thing. Corrections get read first.
How to reach us
Everything here goes through ozgur.work, the personal site of the person who runs this one, where the current contact details live. It is the fastest route, and it stays right even when an address printed here would have gone stale.
Corrections
Prices change, features ship, and an app that scored badly a year ago may not deserve it now. If something on the site is out of date, send the app name, the page you saw it on, and what it should say. A link to the app maker's own pricing or changelog page makes it quick to verify, and a verified correction goes in on the next pass with the check date updated.
Adding an app
There are 40 apps in the directory. To join them, an app has to be a note-taking app that someone could reasonably pick today, it needs a public price, and its first public release has to be at least a year old.
The age rule is there because building an app has become cheap. With AI tools, anyone can put one together in a weekend, and plenty of note-taking apps launch into a crowded market, fail to find paying users, and shut down within months. Anyone who picked one of those from this list would have to move all their notes somewhere else. A year on the market does not prove an app will last, but it does show the maker kept going after launch. We would rather this directory not turn into a cemetery of apps that no longer exist.
When you write in, send the site, a sentence on who it is for, and a link that shows when it first shipped, such as an App Store listing, a changelog, or a launch post. If the app is not a year old yet, write again once it is. We do not take payment for a listing, so there is no queue to jump and no favor to trade.
If you make one of the apps already listed and think a score is wrong, say which axis and why. The six axes and their weights are set out on how we rate, so an argument about a number is an argument we can actually have.
Using the data
The whole directory is published as JSON with an OpenAPI spec, and the terms for reusing it are on the developers page. You do not need permission or a key to read it, and there is nothing to ask us for before you start.
