Privacy
There is almost nothing here to collect
No accounts, no sign-in, no newsletter and no database of readers. This page says what does happen, in plain terms.
What we do not do
NoteTakingApps has no login, so there is no profile, no password and no record of who you are. We do not ask for your email, we do not run ads that follow you around, and we do not sell or share anything about you with anyone. Nothing you filter, compare or search for on the site is sent to us or stored against your name, because there is no name.
Analytics
The site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages get read. It records the usual anonymous things: the page you are on, roughly where in the world you are, your browser and screen size, and which site you arrived from. Google Analytics 4 does not store the IP address it sees, and the reports we read are totals, never a single reader.
Analytics sets a cookie in your browser to tell a repeat visit from a new one. If you would rather not be counted, any content blocker or the browser setting that blocks third-party cookies stops it, and the site works exactly the same either way.
What your browser keeps
One setting is stored locally, on your own device: whether you chose the light or dark theme. It never leaves your browser and we cannot read it. The comparison tray is held in memory only, so it clears when you close the tab, and your filters live in the address bar rather than in storage, which is what makes a filtered view shareable.
The fonts are served from this site rather than fetched from Google at page load, so reading a page here does not announce you to a font host.
Hosting and links
The site is a set of static files on Cloudflare, which keeps standard server logs and blocks abusive traffic as part of serving them. We also link out to the apps we review. Once you follow one of those links you are on someone else's site under their privacy policy, not ours, and some of those links may earn us a commission without changing what we said about the app.
Questions and changes
If you want to know what a specific page does, or you think something here is wrong, say so through the contact page. A policy change shows up as a change to the words on this page, which is the only version of it there is.
